Nebula Awards Weekend, Washington, DC
May 19-22
The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) will present the Nebula Awards during a weekend filled with activities for science, fiction, and science fiction lovers. You don’t have to be an SFWA member or even a writer to attend.
Maker Faire, San Francisco, CA
May 21-22
The “world’s largest DIY festival,” brought to the Bay Area by Make magazine. There will be quite a few GeekMoms and GeekDads there, so be sure to say hello!
BaltiCon, Baltimore, MD
May 27-30
BaltiCon is Maryland’s regional sci-fi and fantasy con. This year’s guest of honor is prolific science fiction author Ben Bova. Balticon also includes art, costuming, and gaming tracks, along with a lot more.

Yay, convention season! Two conventions in the San Francisco Bay Area, specifically in the South Bay, on Memorial Day Weekend, May 27 – 30, 2011.
Fanime Con (anime) at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA
BayCon (general sci-fi/fantasy) at the Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara, CA
Sweet, but nothing in Raleigh. Not until June when it’s our turn to have fun at the Maker Faire!
